Reducing salt consumption has long-term benefits for teens

Researchers said that teens could have a 30% to 43% lower risk of developing hypertension as adults if they would reduce their daily salt consumption by 3,000 milligrams. The study showed that cutting back on sodium also would reduce the long-term risk of coronary heart disease, heart attack and stroke.
