Amazon is betting that software built into its Kindle Fire will give the tablet an advantage over competitors, including Apple's iPad. The Kindle Fire, which began shipping Monday, includes a version of news reader Pulse that has features not found on other tablets, as well as exclusive Amazon applications for Audible audio books, The Internet Movie Database and the retailer's online store.
