How to support teachers in implementing technology in schools

Elementary-school computer teacher Mary Beth Hertz in a blog post suggests ways that schools can support teachers in integrating technology into the classroom. Rather than depending on the IT department or a single technology integration specialist, schools should enlist both mentors and coaches -- who serve two distinct roles, Hertz writes. Mentors help colleagues get started with an idea they already have been practicing, while coaches provide regular support on getting started with the specific technology, she explains.
