INPO compiles Fukushima Daiichi time line

The Institute of Nuclear Power Operations compiled a 98-page chronology of the Fukushima Daiichi crisis in Japan that is meant to help the U.S. nuclear industry and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission form lessons from the incident. The report contains details about the workers' struggles to save the facility. "While the INPO time line does not give us the whys behind what happened, it's still important to know from an operational perspective what happened -- the sequence of events -- so that again we can get after the lessons learned and apply them correctly at our plants," said Tony Pietrangelo, senior vice president and chief nuclear officer at the Nuclear Energy Institute.
