Quickservice chains aim to gain a competitive edge with ad campaigns and public-relations pushes featuring the chefs behind their food. Burger King executive chef John Koch's signature shows up in ads for the chain's Chef's Choice burger, McDonald's chef Dan Coudreaut has done a slew of interviews, and KFC launched a program starring its "chief chicken officer."
