Senate passes bill to offer tax incentives for hiring veterans

Veterans face higher unemployment rates than the general population, and more than 800,000 former military members are jobless. Meanwhile, decreasing involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan will bring more troops home to look for jobs. To address the employment issues, the Senate last week approved a bill to offer tax credits to businesses that hire military veterans.
