To succeed globally, mobile health may need entrepreneurs

Mobile-health initiatives have already made huge contributions in poor and emerging nations, but advocates say they can't rely on nongovernmental organizations to continue to provide funding for projects. Instead, they say, entrepreneurs must be encouraged to enter the sector. "In order for any M-Health initiative to be sustainable, it has to be commercially sustainable," said Marius Conradie, who leads Vodacom's mobile-health efforts.
