Sponsored stories trend may be difficult to avoid

Native advertising -- in the form of ads that closely resemble editorial content -- could even be in The New York Times' future, as the concept gains broader traction, argues Jeff John Roberts. Such august publications as Forbes and the Atlantic already offer sponsored stories, and The New York Times Co.'s Boston.com recently launched an Insights feature with clearly labeled paid content.
