Wal-Mart debuts artisan food subscription service

Wal-Mart's innovation arm, @WalmartLabs, has launched Goodies Co., a service that sends subscribers a new basket of sample-sized artisan foods each month for a $7 fee. While most of the products aren't for sale at Wal-Mart stores, they are available in full-size versions at the Goodies website, and tracking which items prove most popular will give the retailer insights for future in-store merchandising efforts.
