Amazon Web Services debuts a VDI; exec touts public over private cloud

Amazon Web Services has released a virtual desktop infrastructure called Workspaces that it says will allow for easier implementation of corporate applications and provide enhanced cloud security and management. Separately, AWS' Andy Jassy touted the benefits of the public cloud over private options. "If you're not planning on using the public cloud in some significant fashion, you will be at a significant competitive disadvantage," he said at an AWS conference.
