The Environmental Protection Agency should not reduce 2014 blending requirements under the Renewable Fuel Standard, but instead encourage the expanded production of ethanol, writes the editorial board of the Omaha, Neb. World-Herald. Biofuel production has proven to benefit the economy and reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil. "Now is the time for biofuel's defenders to step up and share the sound public policy reasoning behind the federal renewable fuels standard and the economic importance of renewable fuels," the board writes.
