Experts: Palliative care is spreading to other specialties

Palliative care is being adopted by other health care specialties and clinicians, palliative specialists told a forum at Rowan University. The University of Pennsylvania Health System uses nurses to provide palliative care during home visits, Cooper University Health Care trains physicians to talk with families about palliative care, and New Jersey Health Commissioner Mary O'Dowd has focused on improving end-of-life care by promoting Practitioner Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment.
