House hearing on CSIA signals growing momentum on TSCA reform

Now that the House is taking action on the Chemical Safety Improvement Act, it could create an opportunity to advance the bipartisan bill, Jason Plautz writes. At a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing Wednesday, ACC President Cal Dooley noted that the bill provides "much-needed balance" and that concerns with the legislation are "manageable and may be based on misperception or misunderstanding." Following the hearing, Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., said the progress signals Congress "may be productive" on reforming the Toxic Substances Control Act.
