House OKs bill aimed at reducing premature births

The House on Tuesday passed a bill that would extend programs to help prevent premature birth. The PREEMIE Act would also reauthorize the National Pediatric Research Network, providing funding for pediatric disease studies. "This legislation will continue and strengthen the ongoing effort to track, prevent and treat pre-maturity," Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., said.
