Iraqi contractor reaches settlement over alleged Corps of Engineers bribery

An Iraqi construction firm accused of bribing a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers official has agreed to pay $2.7 million to settle the allegations of violating the False Claims Act, the Justice Department said. The allegations against the company involve 10 reconstruction contracts in Iraq and related bribes that the Justice Department said were provided in 2007 and 2008.
