Mass. student seeks to change Apple dictionary's definition of "gay"

Fifteen-year-old Becca Gorman of Sudbury, Mass., has launched a campaign to persuade Apple to remove what she says is an offensive definition of the word "gay" from the dictionary it bundles with many of its products. The entry in question, which lists the word as an informal synonym for "foolish" or "stupid," did not appear in any other dictionaries Gorman checked. Gorman, the daughter of lesbian parents, said she received a call from Apple after sending CEO Tim Cook a letter asking for the definition to be removed. As of Tuesday, the definition hadn't been changed.
