NYC teenager encourages girls to get into software coding

Nikita Rau, a senior at Bronx High School of Science in New York City, has organized a computer-coding club at her school, building on the efforts of the Girls Who Code summer program. At the beginning of this school year, she was able to sign up about 100 girls to join the club, adding to the 50 she recruited last spring. Girls Who Code founder Reshma Saujani talks about how she came to organize the program, which was held in five U.S. cities this year.
