Orangutan with hernia recovering after laparoscopic surgery

The Little Rock Zoo's orangutan named Chiquita underwent laparoscopic surgery for an abdominal hernia. Veterinarians initially suspected the animal might have an ovarian cyst, but a local obstetrician, who volunteered to do the procedure, discovered and repaired the hernia during the surgery.
