Report: Quest for 'real' food tops 2014 dining trends

More restaurants will turn to pork, lamb and game meats instead of chicken in the face of higher beef prices, eateries will bring carbs back to the table as Asian cuisine with rice and noodles heats up, and chefs will feed a craving for cheese and high-fat dishes as part of a backlash against the growing trend toward healthier eating, according to Technomic's restaurant forecast for 2014. Topping the list -- a demand for "real" food made with authentic ingredients.
