Roundtable, other groups urge Senate to focus on cybersecurity

The Financial Services Roundtable and other industry groups have sent a letter to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence urging it to advance cybersecurity legislation. The letter voiced concerns that businesses lack legal protections for sharing customer information that can help prevent cyberattacks. "[T]hose who want to protect that private data are hindered from sharing attack information by a system that is weakened due to uncertainty over liability concerns," the letter said.
