West Village becomes a candyland of boutiques

The West Village in New York has seen a recent influx of sweet confections as several candy shops, including Sugar and Plumm and Cynthia Rowley's CuRios Candy, have opened this year and more are expected next year. The neighborhood is the perfect combination of tourists and locals. "It's not the typical jelly-bean stores that are coming here, but the very specialized ones, and I think they treat candy just like another accessory," said Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of the retail group at Douglas Elliman.
