New music "Lbl" spins ad-driven, free download model

Rcrd Lbl, a joint venture between Downtown Records and journalist and entrepreneur Peter Rojas, will put to the test an ad-driven model for releasing music online. The combination record label-blog site, which also will include social-networking features, will allow users to download music at no charge; initial sponsors include the Virgin America Inc. airline, Nikon Corp., and Puma AG.
