Nissan unveils electric car, the Leaf

Nissan unveiled its electric car, which seats five and creates zero emissions, in Los Angeles on Friday. The Leaf, a hatchback that runs on a lithium-ion battery, will be available next year in some areas of the U.S., Europe and Japan. The company says it will cost slightly more than similar size gas-powered vehicles and can go 100 miles on a single charge.
