European Commission postpones releasing a MiFID review document

The European Commission has delayed the release of a draft consultation document on a review of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. "MiFID consultation will be launched before the end of November, most likely," said a representative of the commission's Internal Market and Services division. Mark Hart, managing director of AFME, said the quality of the consultation paper is crucial and that the group is "hopeful that the delay will be accompanied by a more realistic consultation period than the two-month period that had previously been indicated".
