FDA action is foreseen on alcohol-caffeine drinks

The FDA is expected to take action as early as Wednesday on beverages that combine alcohol and caffeine; it has been reviewing the safety and legality of the drinks for a year. Some states already have acted to ban the drinks, which have been connected to cases of illness and death in young people.
