NEI: Nuclear resurgence is waiting on economic recovery

The move to build nuclear power plants in the U.S. has the support of the Obama administration and Congress, but the economy needs to recover in order to increase demand, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute. "The asterisk there is the impact of the recession. Electricity demand is still well below where it was in 2007," said Steve Kerekes, senior director of media relations at NEI.
