New York City racing to assign millions in stimulus funds

More than three-quarters of the $121 million in bonds allocated to New York City under a federal-stimulus program has yet to be assigned to specific construction projects, either because particular projects have yet to be identified or because identified projects still must meet eligibility requirements. The city risks losing the balance of its funds if they aren't assigned by Dec. 31.
