PowerPoint presentations can be made easier to read by using fonts and colors that are easily registered by the brain, says Stephen M. Kosslyn, author of "Better PowerPoint." For example, he recommends avoiding a white background in a dark room because the glare will cause the audience to see "after images" when they shift their eyes.
