Minn. nurses reduce delirium among elderly patients

North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn., revamped its nursing structure and training on geriatric care to reduce the number of elderly patients with delirium. Hospital officials are targeting delirium, which is common in older patients, especially those admitted to the ICU, because it can lead to longer stays and poorer outcomes.
