U.S. one step closer to return of horse-processing plants

An appropriations bill that doesn't contain language specifically banning USDA inspections of horse-slaughter facilities will be voted on in the House and Senate this week. If passed, the bill would essentially reinstate the horse-processing industry in the U.S. Advocates say this measure will provide a humane death for thousands of abandoned and neglected horses and provide jobs.
