Analyst: Nintendo's Wii U may be in short supply for 6 months

The Wii U console, which makes its U.S. retail debut Sunday, could be subject to shortages for the next six months, according to Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities. IHS Screen Digest estimates that Nintendo will sell 3.5 million units of the new console during this holiday shopping season, while Pachter forecasts annual sales of about 10 million units. Meanwhile, a line has already formed at Nintendo's flagship store in Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan.
