CBO supports changes to military pay

A report by the Congressional Budget Office highlights military pay as one of the best areas for the Pentagon to reduce costs. The report suggests capping pay raises and overhauling retiree benefits. "Although retention of military personnel might suffer, that effect could be mitigated by boosting the amounts available for selective reenlistment bonuses," the report says.
