A Frost & Sullivan report predicts Europe's refurbished medical imaging equipment market will reach $582.3 million in 2019 from $417.6 million in 2012. Factors such as the regional economic slowdown, tight budgets and increased utilization of medical procedures are expected to prompt hospitals to turn to refurbished equipment to meet demand. "Government regulations that have restricted the purchase of used equipment in some regions are expected to ease following the rapid acceptance of refurbished systems globally," said analyst Raghuraman Madanagopal. "With governments relaxing their regulations, the scope for these systems in the public sector will grow."
