House panel has FCC oversight hearing in the works

The Federal Communications Commission's proposal to eliminate the UHF discount for determining ownership caps will likely be among the topics on the agenda for a House communications subcommittee oversight hearing scheduled for next month, according to Subcommittee Chairman Greg Walden, R-Ore. The hearing comes as the FCC has returned to its full five-member strength. In the meantime, the subcommittee on Thursday will convene a hearing on FirstNet, the broadband first responder network that will be financed by the incentive spectrum auction proceeds.
