Medtronic to resume German distribution of CoreValve system

A court in Germany has decided to lift a ban on sales there of Medtronic's CoreValve system, which is used for transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The decision was based on the European Patent Office's preliminary opinion that Medtronic has not infringed on Edwards Lifesciences' patent. "As a result of the ruling, Medtronic will resume distribution of the CoreValve System in Germany," Medtronic Senior Vice President Dr. John Liddicoat said.
