Real-time bidding isn't the only reason for the surge in programmatic

Programmatic display ad buying more than quadrupled in the second quarter year over year with at least 20,000 brands now on board, says Andrew Casale, senior vice president of strategy for Casale Media. Retail dominates the field, especially in real-time bidding, but Casale says that his company has seen that growth play out more as private deals between brands and publishers than as open-market buys and RTB.
