FDA orders new warnings for abortion pill

The agency said the new label for the drug RU-486 would include a warning linking the drug to the risk of serious bacterial infection, based on reports of cases of sepsis associated with the medicine; it already carries a "black box" warning about its use in certain pregnancies. The manufacturer of one such drug used in a combination to terminate pregnancy, Danco Laboratories, did not have an immediate comment.
