Accord reached on Internet control

A last-minute agreement reached between U.S. negotiators and representatives from countries trying to loosen U.S. control of the Internet appears to have paved the way for the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis, Tunisia, to focus on helping poor countries benefit more from the digital age. The deal leaves control of technical aspects of Internet governance with the U.S. while creating an international forum to address Internet policy issues.
