Miami teachers, district reach tentative deal

The United Teachers of Dade and the Miami-Dade district school district have reached a tentative three-year contract that would provide immediate pay raises of between 2% and 6% retroactive to July 1, followed by smaller salary increases in subsequent years. Both sides hailed the deal, which now heads to the union membership for approval, and then to the School Board.
