Column: Thanksgiving travelers should arrive at the airport early

Officials are advising travelers heading to the airport for Thanksgiving to leave early and plan to spend more time at screening stations, writes Derek Kravitz in the Washington Post. He notes that the SecureFlight program, which requires travelers to provide their full name, gender and birthday to airlines could delay some travelers. Full-body scanners are among other notable changes since last year's Thanksgiving travel period. Meanwhile, some observers note that a group of travelers protesting the pat-downs and scanners on Nov. 24 could cause delays at security checkpoints.
