Napolitano defends scanners but says DHS has an "open ear"

The Department of Homeland Security has an "open ear" to suggestions for improving airport security, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said. During a speech at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Napolitano reiterated that the new full-body scanners used at airport screening stations are safe and do not violate travelers' privacy. Napolitano also noted that travelers have the right to "travel by some other means."
