White House will redistribute rejected HSR money

States that are balking at high-speed rail won't be able to redirect the funds, Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said at a three-day high-speed rail conference. Some states have grown more vocal against the billion-dollar projects. If states reject the high-speed rail money, it will be redistributed "in a professional way in places where the money can be well-spent," LaHood said.
