Calif. HSR group offers Request for Qualifications

The California High-Speed Rail Authority advances its nearly $100 billion bullet train proposal as it offers a Request for Qualifications from potential build-design companies for the project's initial construction in the Central Valley. Cost estimates range from $1.5 billion to $2 billion, and the bid could be awarded before the end of next year, according to the authority. Once the environmental assessment is finished, work could begin next fall.
