Restaurant patrons value social responsibility

While menu selection, price and location are the biggest factors driving consumers to restaurants, a Mintel report shows restaurant consumers value a dining establishment's commitment to social responsibility. About 57% of consumers are willing to spend more if the restaurant uses local and sustainable ingredients. Living wages and company-provided medical insurance also are important to restaurant patrons.
