Supercommittee's lack of progress worries businesses

A congressional supercommittee's apparent lack of progress toward the goal of finding $1.2 trillion in deficit reductions before next week's holiday has businesses concerned. Retailers worry that the lack of progress could cast a pall over the holiday shopping season. Retailers also worry that taxes will rise and federal spending decrease over time, which could contract consumers spending, said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay.
