Tarmac delays still present issues for airline, customers

The government's regulations on tarmac delays may increase the number of flight cancellations, experts say. Severe weather and airport policies may also lead to tarmac delays. The Transportation Department "understands that many of these instances are outside of an airline's control," said Steve Lott, an Air Transport Association spokesman.
