U.S. begins review of Shell's Alaskan exploration project

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has started a 30-day study of Shell Oil's proposal to drill in Alaska's Chukchi Sea. The company will be carefully monitoring developments on its plan, spokeswoman Kelly op de Weegh said. "We do have long lead-times associated with preparing a drilling program for the open water season," she said.
