An analysis of four studies found that obese adults who were obese or overweight as children had a higher risk for type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high LDL levels and heart disease compared with those who had never been obese. However, overweight or obese children who lost weight in adulthood did not have higher health risks than their normal-weight peers, researchers said. The findings appear in The New England Journal of Medicine.
