AAFP approves ADHD guidelines for children, adolescents

The AAFP has endorsed attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder guidelines for children and adolescents developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Theodore Ganiats, M.D., the academy's representative on the AAP committee, said the guidelines -- which include a checklist for diagnosis and treatment -- are important because ADHD often is misdiagnosed.
