Analysis: Troops' health benefits aren't shielded from sequestration

President Barack Obama has exercised an option in the Budget Control Act that enables him to exempt military pay from sequestration cuts, but that exemption doesn't extend to health benefits, Sara Sorcher and Meghan McCarthy write. Tricare could see a 9.4% budget reduction in 2013, which would affect many aspects of military health benefits, including hospital care and prescription coverage, experts say.
